This beautifully painted antique Marwari style horse is identifiable by its curved and pointed ears. The paintwork is typically Rajasthani in style and this piece dates to the middle of the 19th century.
The Marwari is a rare breed of horse from the Jodhpur region and is prized for shows as well as ceremonial practices in polo grounds and by the military.

Condition:
This piece has been carefully restored and conserved in our workshops. The paint has been consolidated to stop any flaking. There are various old repairs visible in the photographs The base is a more recent addition as the original was long since lost. The ears & tail have also been replaced.
